JC opens up the mic

sunday nov 21, 2-6pm
Art House Productions
1 McWilliams Place (Penthouse suite) (6th floor)
Jersey City

This is the apex of what the 2010 Tour season has been about!

Here is where we come together and look back at the last few months and reflect on the relationships we have built, the amazing talent we have been fortunate to experience and the experience of working together and discovering one another as people, artists, colalborators and friends.

Art House Productions has been gracious enough to open its doors (and abundant space)... to us for this farewell to the 2010 season of JC Opens up the Mic....

Hosts for this event are:
Ben BrknInglsh Figueroa, Trish Szymanski and Mark Skrzypczak

DJs:
George "Soul" Fernandez, Emeline "Lady E" Lavender, Neva Wartell

Music Features:
Bern and Brights and Bryan Scott

Performers:

Look to the left, look to the right... we're inviting everyone who has performed throughout the season, including hosts, to blaze the mic one last time at JC Opens Up the Mic Tour 2010.

Open Mic:
MOST DEFINITELY

There are a few surprises in store.... so check back for updated details.
Come on out and support your local artists and open mic venues. Go away from this feeling that you are a part of something large, because you are. Without each and everyone of you, this vision could not and would not have taken on the life that it has...

Fear not, though... this may be the last for 2010, but 2011 will be an amazing journey of discovery in Jersey City (feel the chills yet?)

JCAS Presents: Mean Streets (1973)

Sunday November 14th · 7:30 - 10:30pm

Starring Robert DeNiro and Harvey Keitel, “Mean Streets” was Martin Scorsese’s first feature-film of his own design. Keitel plays Charlie, a small-time hood living in New York City’s Little Italy and struggling to work his way up the ranks of a local mob. Life is complicated by his family’s disapproval of his epileptic girlfriend, and by the reputation-ruining debt his friend Johnny Boy (De Niro) has racked up with a loan shark.

After the film’s release, DeNiro won the National Society of Film Critics award for Best Supporting Actor for his role. In 1997, the Library of Congress selected “Mean Streets” for preservation in the United States Film Registry, and the American Film Institute nominated it for one of the Top 100 Movies of all time.

Come see a Scorsese classic, and his first project with Robert DeNiro, followed by enlightening discussion.

Film starts at 7:30, discussion to follow
FREE admission; $5 donation suggested.
Beverages will be available, but please leave food at the door.
