Last band standing

4th Street Arts & Music will host a variety of musical acts from New Jersey and New York as they compete at the Last Band Standing, a battle of the bands event, at Parlay Studios Sunday, Aug. 22., 2 -6 pm


Eight acts will compete in a bracketed musical tournament consisting of three competitive rounds. All participants will be voted on by a panel of judges and by the audience at the end of each round. At the end of the evening, prizes will be awarded to the winning bands.

Admission to Last Band Standing will be $5 at the door, with home cooked food and drinks available upon entry. This event is also a fundraiser for the 4th Street Art and Music Festival taking place in Jersey City Sat, Oct. 2.

Some of the participating bands include:
In Musth, Big Boss, Los Huevos, Easter Vomit, Plastiq Passion, Prison Pretty, Shayfer James and more TBA.

The judges include:
Eddie Applebaum from The Greenhouse – A music manager for over 12 years, Eddie has worked with some of the most popular rock bands of our generation, including LIVE, Sunny Day Real Estate, Local H, Morningwood, Tracy Bonham, Strangefolk, Earl Greyhound, The Bravery among others. Eddie has achieved much success in the last few years, especially in the realm of music licensing, where he has done over 150 placements for his bands' music, including 4 national commercial campaigns, over 30 network TV shows, 20+ video games, and a long list of feature films, most notably the placement of Morningwood's track "New York Girls" in the film Sex & The City: The Movie.

Anthony Fantano from The Needle Drop – A public radio host, contributor to NPR Music's Song of the Day, and music editor for Scene Magazine. He started the music blog the Needle Drop in 2007, and has been growing a YouTube audience with his eccentric music reviews since 2009. When he's not listening to music, he's talking about it, dreaming about it, and making it. Hence, he is the Internet's busiest music nerd.

"Pistol" Pete Kaufmann from RockinLifeStyle – A professional musician, writer, and motivational speaker has toured America as drummer for Amandla- led by Claude Coleman Jr. of Ween, aso contributes as a writer for Modern Drummer Magazine, and is the owner of Rockin Lifestyle- a motivation company dedicated to creative people and creative living.

Lindsay Klein – With many TV/Film appearances including : MTV's "Singled Out", Comedy Central's "Strangers With Candy" and "Upright Citizens Brigade", HBO's "The Sopranos", feature films such as "Finding Forrester" and "Center Stage", and various indie films including "Home Sweet Hoboken" starring Ben Gazzara, Lindsay has been part of the entertainment industry for some time. After interning for the Howard Stern Show, Lindsay Klein found her ultimate niche, radio. Currently the Nightspace DJ on WDHA 105.5FM rock, Lindsay's show is on 7pm-midnight Monday thru Friday and includes her very own "Homegrown Spotlight" where she plays a local artist once a night. In addition, she has just built her own Homegrown Spotlight blog at http://www.wdhafm.com/Blog/homegrown/home.aspx which features write-ups on original artists, acoustic performances, and interviews.
